Trench Group Launches Trench Consulting: Consulting Services for the Future of Energy

The Trench Group is expanding its service portfolio with the new business division Trench Consulting. Starting October 1, 2025, the company will offer comprehensive consulting services in the field of High Voltage Technology for grid operators, utilities, industrial companies, OEMs and infrastructure operators such as datacenters. Trench Consulting will be presented for the first time at this year’s CIGRÉ conference in Montreal.

“With Trench Consulting, we are closing an important gap in the market. We are now making our decades of experience in high-voltage technology and grid solutions available in the form of consulting services. This enables us to support our customers from analysis and specification to acceptance and operation,” says Peter Dopplmair, Head of Consulting and CTO of the Trench Group, who will be responsible for the new business division.

The new consulting services cover five core areas: grid studies, primary equipment, testing, control & protection, and training. The Trench Group thus offers practical consulting combined with technical implementation expertise.

The energy transition requires stable, secure, and efficient grids - and that’s exactly where we come in. With Trench Consulting, we are making a decisive contribution to making the energy infrastructure fit for the future.

This step is also groundbreaking for the strategic development of the company.
“We combine our product business with a comprehensive consulting approach. This allows us to create clear added value for our customers and clearly differentiate ourselves from the competition,” explains Klaus Merklein, CSO of the Trench Group.

The official market launch will take place at CIGRÉ in Montreal. At the same time, the new website for Trench Consulting will go online.
