Design

The explosion proof design of the Trench gas insulated instrument transformers is based on the use of compressible gas as insulation medium and the built-in rupture disc.

Seismic

Excellent seismic performance as a consequence of the optimized design of flanges, composite insulators and their interconnection.

High Current

The bar-type primary conductor is designed for high service short-circuit current and prevents high voltage drops in the primary winding

High Voltage insulation

Superior control of internal and external insulation stress due to the use of a proprietary system of finely graded bushings.

Maintenance

Maintenance-free and therefore cost- and time-saving over a service life of more than 30 years.

Installation/Footprint

Less foundation space required compared to the use of individual current and voltage transformers.

Proven design

Our conventional gas Combined Conventional portfolio is available up to 800kV. Made for over 30 years of maintenance-free service the modular design is optimized for reliability.

Rapture disk

The rupture disc of a Conventional Gas Combined Transformer in this case with Life Tank acts as a safety system that is triggered in the event of overpressure and effectively prevents an imminent explosion.

Primary terminals

Conventional Gas combined transformers can be fitted with customized high voltage (HV) terminals according to IEC and NEMA specifications to suit the application and other customer requirements.

Primary conductor

The bar-type primary conductor of the Conventional gas Combined Transformer is designed to withstand a much higher short-circuit current. This prevents large voltage drops in the primary winding.
