CONVENTIONAL GAS CURRENT TRANSFORMER
800 kV / 6000 A
Current Transformers utilizing conventional gas insulation provide accurate and reliable current transformation, measurement, with the proven Trench design and highest reliability.
CHARACTERISTICS
- For Voltage levels up to 800 kV
- Rated primary current up to 6000 A
- Fully type-tested by international standards
GENERAL
- Explosion-proof design in accordance with IEC 61869-1 Class II
- verified in tests, Conventional Gas does not cause or spread fire under any circumstances
- No aging of the insulation Conventional Gas
Explosion-proof design using a rupture disc
Bar-type primary conductor allows higher short-circuit currents and prevents a large voltage drop across the primary winding
Cores/windings are located at the top of the current transformer [head type]
The outer part is made of aluminum or another corrosion-resistant material, e.g., stainless steel.

MAIN FEATURES
Modular, durable and maintenance - free design -
proven for decades
Design
The explosion proof design of the Trench Conventional Gas CTs is based on the use of compressible Conventional Gas as insulation medium and the built-in rupture disc.
Seismic
Excellent seismic performance as a consequence of the optimized design of flanges, composite insulator, and their interconnection.
High current
The bar-type primary conductor is designed for high service short-circuit current and prevents high voltage drops in the primary winding.
High Voltage insulation
Superior control of internal and external insulation stress, due to the use of a proprietary system of finely graded bushings.
Accuracy
Precise transformation at rated current and high current levels is ensured by uniformly arranged secondary windings.
