Trench Canada Limited, a subsidiary of Trench Group, celebrated the start of a comprehensive investment program in Scarborough with a groundbreaking ceremony.

In the presence of high-ranking representatives from politics and business, including Hon. Raymond Sung Joon Cho, MP, the starting signal was given for a project that will double the site’s production capacity over the next five years.

This investment is part of the Trench Group’s global growth strategy and follows similar capacity expansions at sites in Europe and Asia. The aim is to respond more quickly and flexibly to the growing global demand for key components for the expansion of modern power grids.

Doubling our production capacity in Scarborough is a significant step toward better supporting our customers worldwide in the dynamically developing energy sector.
Investing in modern machinery, more efficient processes, and creating new jobs not only strengthens our location, but also our role as a reliable partner in the global transformer and high-voltage market.

With this expansion, the Trench Group is responding to the growing demands on the energy industry. The electrification and digitalization of daily life and large parts of industry as well as the accelerated expansion of renewable energies are leading to a dramatic increase in grid connections and projects to expand power grids worldwide.
