Trench Group at CIGRE Paris 2026: Reliable Grids. One Partner.

Trench Group launches a fully integrated power quality component package for the energy transition – and presents world premieres across its entire high-voltage portfolio

  • Maintaining voltage stability and power quality has become a defining operational challenge of the energy transition
  • With Enerlux now fully integrated, Trench Group bundles capacitors, reactors, and instrument transformers as a coherent package from one source
  • World premieres across the Group’s complete high-voltage component portfolio – from bushings and instrument transformers to coils and reactors

Trench Group launches, for the first time, a fully integrated power quality component package from a single source. As a global technology provider of high-voltage grid components, the company presents this new offering and more world premieres across its entire
portfolio at CIGRE Paris 2026 (Level 2, Booth 112) under the motto “Reliable Grids. One Partner.”

Power Quality: A Defining Challenge of the Energy Transition

The rapid expansion of renewable generation, the build-out of long-distance transmission infrastructure, and rising electricity demand from new sources are fundamentally increasing grid complexity. For transmission operators worldwide, maintaining voltage stability and power quality has become a key operational challenge of the energy transition. As a result, the global power quality equipment market is expected to grow from USD 33 billion today to over USD 50 billion by 2031 (The Insight Partners, 2025), driven by structural shifts in how grids are built and operated.

A Complete Power Quality Solution from a Single Source

Trench Group’s Grid Reliability business unit develops and manufactures technologies that absorb disturbances and balance loads, keeping grids stable as renewables reshape the energy landscape. At CIGRE Paris, the company presents the next level in mastering this challenge: a fully integrated, component-level power quality solution.

When capacitors, reactors, and instrument transformers come from different suppliers, each meets its own specification – but the resonance
behavior, physical coordination, and commissioning timeline fall into a gap that nobody is contractually responsible for.

That is where projects often lose time and accountability. Trench Group now closes that gap. Customers can source Enerlux capacitors, Trench Austria reactors, and Trench instrument transformers, designed and delivered as a coherent solution. One engineering concept from the start, one point of accountability, faster commissioning with fewer handoffs.

“With the integration of Enerlux, we have made a strategic addition to our portfolio. Power quality is one of the most strongly growing segments in grid infrastructure, and we are now in a position to offer customers the complete tailor-made component package from a single source.” Dr. Bahadir Basdere, President & CEO, Trench Group

The Enerlux Integration: Delivering Customer Value within Months

In February 2026, Trench Group completed the acquisition of Enerlux Power SRL, an Italian manufacturer of high-voltage power capacitors. Within months of closing, customers can benefit from a broader portfolio: Enerlux’s high-voltage capacitor expertise combined with Trench’s strong position in reactors and instrument transformers, backed by a global footprint and supply chain built for reliability.

“Our customers tell us consistently that managing multiple suppliers for power quality components costs them time, resources, and creates
unnecessary risk. What Trench Group is closing here is not a technology gap – it is a responsibility gap.” Klaus Merklein, Chief Sales Officer, Trench Group

At the Stand: Technology on Display

At Level 2, Booth 112, visitors can experience world premieres and technology highlights across Trench Group’s three business units.

  • Coil Monitoring System – real-time condition monitoring for air-core reactors, enabling predictive maintenance and reducing unplanned
    outages in critical grid infrastructure.
  • Clean Air HVDC Divider – SF6-free voltage measurement for HVDC applications – same performance, zero global warming potential.
  • 765 kV Power Voltage Transformer (PSVS) – Delivers reliable auxiliary power supply at the most demanding voltage levels in
    transmission infrastructure.
  • Optical CT – Optical current sensing purpose-built for HVDC transmission schemes – delivering speed and accuracy.

Also on display: RIS 550 kV HVDC Bushing, HSP dry-type cable terminations, and biodegradable fluid-insulated current transformers.

About Trench Group

Trench Group is a global technology provider for high-voltage grid components and systems, present in nearly every power transmission grid worldwide. Headquartered in Berlin with over 100 years of engineering expertise, Trench Group designs and manufactures high-voltage components that address the core challenges of modern power infrastructure: connecting grids (bushings, cable terminations), measuring their performance (instrument transformers), and ensuring their reliability (coils, reactors).

As electricity demand rises and power grids transform worldwide, Trench Group is a key enabler of the infrastructure the world needs. Since its independence in April 2024, Trench Group has doubled its annual revenue to more than EUR 1 billion. Investing EUR 400 million in global capacity expansion by 2030, the company operates 11 factories across 8 countries on 4 continents and employs more than 3,000 people, with plans to grow to 4,000 by 2030.
